Terms of service
Expliqua drafts class presentations with you. These are the terms you accept when you make an account and use it. We’ve kept them short and in plain words; if something is unclear, ask.
What Expliqua is
Expliqua is a studio for teachers: you say what you’re teaching and it drafts the slides, with pictures, plots, quizzes and narration you can edit and export. It also lets you present with your class answering on their phones, share lessons by link, and keep lessons in courses. Expliqua runs on AI models and other services from third parties, named in our privacy policy.
Your account
- You need an account to make decks. You sign in with Google; keep that sign-in to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used it.
- Accounts are for adults. Students don’t need one: they join a class with a code, or open what you share by link, and these terms bind you, not them.
- You’re responsible for what’s done with your account, including the credits it spends.
What’s yours
- Your lessons stay yours: what you type, the files you attach, your decks and their exports. We don’t claim them, and we don’t use them to train models.
- You give Expliqua only what it needs to work for you: to keep your content, show it to you and to those you share it with, and send it to the services that draft, draw and narrate it.
- Attach only what you have the right to use. A textbook, a paper, a picture: if you may not copy it, don’t give it to Expliqua. You answer for what you upload.
What Expliqua makes
- The slides, pictures, plots, scripts and narration Expliqua makes for you are yours to use in your teaching, as far as we can give them. Models can produce similar results for other teachers, so a slide of yours may look like someone else’s.
- Models make mistakes: a date, a formula, a confident sentence that’s wrong. Expliqua is a draft and you’re the teacher; read a deck before you take it to class.
- When Expliqua searches the web for you, it reads pages that belong to others and cites them. The sources slide is there so your students can go to them.
Students and classes
- You run the class. Whether students may answer on their phones, type their names, or open a shared lesson is for you and your school to decide under your school’s rules, and getting any consent they need is on you.
- What a class answers is kept for you. Students’ names reach only you; the model sees answers as numbers. The privacy policy says what’s kept.
- A share link opens for anyone who has it. Share it where you’d share a classroom door code, and stop sharing when the class is done.
Credits and plans
- Expliqua’s work costs credits: each thing it does for you (a draft, a picture, a narrated slide, a search) uses some, in proportion to what it costs us. The credits page shows the balance and where credits went.
- A monthly plan brings its credits each month; what’s left when the next month’s arrive expires. Extra credits bought on a plan never expire. Free credits for new accounts are a gift that may change or end at any time.
- Purchases go through Polar, our merchant of record: Polar sells the plan to you, charges your card, collects any tax and issues the receipt, under its own terms as well as these. We never see your card number.
- Plans renew each month until you cancel from Manage on the credits page; the month you paid for runs to its end. Refunds follow our refund policy.
- Prices and what a plan brings can change. A change in price applies to you from your next renewal, and we’ll tell you first.
Fair use
Expliqua is made for teaching. Don’t use it to make content that’s illegal, that harasses or endangers someone, or that infringes others’ rights; don’t try to break into it, overload it, scrape it, or resell it; and don’t make accounts to farm free credits. We may limit how much a single account can do at once so that it works for everyone.
Ending
- You can stop at any time: delete your decks in the library, cancel your plan, and write to support@expliqua.com to have the account deleted.
- We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close one for another reason, we’ll refund the unused part of what it paid for.
Changes
Expliqua changes often, and these terms will too. When a change matters to you we’ll say so in the app or by email before it applies. Using Expliqua after that means you accept it.
Limits of what we promise
Expliqua is given as it is. We work to keep it up and right, but we can’t promise it will never be down, never lose a draft, or never say something wrong, and we’re not liable for what you do with its output. Where the law lets us limit liability, ours is capped at what you paid Expliqua in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here takes away rights the law gives you as a consumer.
Law
Expliqua is run from Mexico and these terms are under Mexican law. If you’re a consumer somewhere else, the protections of your own country still apply to you.
